In 1988, Dana created The Marketing Edge, a subscription-based newsletter for association executives. In 2001, she founded The Coupland Herald, a community newsletter for Coupland, Texas, and served as editor for two years. She wrote and published the Coupland Community Directory in 2007.
Dana earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing, cum laude, from Texas Tech University in 1983. She received her Certified Exposition Manager certification from the International Association for Exposition Management (IAEM) in 1989, and served as president of the Central Texas Chapter of IAEM in 1992.
Dana is a member of the Association for Women in Communications, Freelance Austin, Writers’ League of Texas, Small Publishers Association of North America and the Elgin Chamber of Commerce, where she serves on the tourism promotion committee.
A fifth-generation Texan, Dana enjoys exploring Texas and the world. In addition to visiting 25 states, she has traveled to 12 other countries, planning travel independently. She and her husband live on a small ranch east of Austin, Texas, where they raise cattle and goats.
